The Principal as a Dynamic Instruction Leader
|
The phrase "principal as instructional leader" is heard in schools all across the country. But what does it mean?
This 12-hour seminar was created for The Chicago Public Schools Office of Principal Professional Development. It is designed to help new and current principals develop dynamic buildings with instruction at the core.
As a result of this seminar, principals will:
- Understand the importance of learning, teaching and leadership styles
- Develop concrete strategies for working with teachers to raise instruction to another level
- Learn to work with diverse teachers using case studies and active problem solving
- Develop strategies for creating and maintaining a vision centered around learners.
At the conclusion of this session, principals will leave with an "Instructional School Improvement Plan" containing concrete strategies and steps for transforming their buildings.
